We delivered a slow cooker project across Lincoln which was all about helping people to build their confidence around creating healthy, affordable and tasty meals. We helped over 60 people to learn about batch-cooking, healthy, tasty and budget-friendly meals that they are now able to make for themselves and their families - all through the use of slow cookers!
We held four sessions at the venues mentioned below, the courses were completely free and we gave people a free slow cooker for attending all sessions (up to 12 available per location)!

GoGro CIC demonstrated how to create a set amount of meals in a slow cooker, we also talked about how these could be made on a hob. We discussed choosing fresh and making from scratch rather than buying ultra-processed, but the emphasis on this project was to save money!
This project was funded through the City of Lincoln Council, through their Household Support Fund.
You can find some of these budget and slow cooker meal recipes on our website here too!
