We added some almonds and cashews to this pudding. Once you get the basic recipe sorted, you can experiment and add things that you like! I made a pudding once that was made from a mixture of pastries that I bought from the Community Grocery Store in Lincoln - obviously it was absolutely delicious! Don't forget though that the original version uses regular bread and butter, if you have bread left over this makes a very tasty dessert too. Experiment and enjoy!
You can swap the lemon for vanilla or replace the golden syrup with jam. Best served warm with custard or cream.
